APIC 2011 Film Award for Broward Health Coral Springs

A short film from Broward Health Coral Springs (Fla.) Medical Center has won a top award from the nation’s leading infection-control organization.

The film, about the medical center’s pioneering efforts to minimize catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSIs), won the People's Choice Award at the 2011 annual meeting of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).

The film tells the story of how Ava Dobin, BSN, RN, CIC, infection control professional at Coral Springs, went on a mission to reduce CRBSIs. Dobin found that using a disinfection cap played a very pivotal role in that mission. View the video here.
